Micks Tape Symm

The "MicksTape-SYM" is a fully symmetrical version of Stab's 2022 #ElectricAcidSurfboardTest winning board, as chosen by Mick Fanning. It's designed for those who appreciate the performance of the original #MicksTape but prefer a symmetrical board over an asymmetrical one. The original asymmetrical design was created with powerful, peak-season Maldivian reef passes in mind, where a bit less surface area on the heel edge proved beneficial for sub-5'3" boards in such waves. However, for everyday surf in less powerful conditions, a spin on the standard swallow tail, featuring a reverse inner curve, offers a simple and effective solution. This "Gull" tail design maintains the smooth flow reminiscent of the original #MicksTape. This board is designed to be ridden significantly shorter than your standard shortboards and even fish, making it the smallest performer in your quiver. Choose a length that provides comfortable width and volume, allowing you to push yourself into new parts of the wave, just as Mick Fanning demonstrated. Essentially, the #MicksTape-SYM is the same high-performance, diminutive package as the asymmetrical version, with the only difference being the last couple inches of the tail outline. It offers an easy-to-understand tail for traditionalists and is suitable for both goofy and regular stances, making it a versatile board for all surfers.
