Overview

Back in the 60s, it was a time of experimentation and everyone was looking at the world differently. Steve Lis, a San Diego kneeboarder and forward thinker, shaped a board for himself in 1967 that would change the course of surfing. All it took was loaning it to one of his standup surfer friends who was on a different level like Steve. His friend kept on borrowing it because he was blown away by the maneuverability it had from its short length and the speed it got from its flat bottom and twin fins compared to the longer single fins of the day. Steve eventually got tired of loaning it out, so he shaped himself one and the rest is history. Just like what those dudes were searching for back in the day, our Classic Fish handles a wide variety of waves, paddles really well and turns easily. It's also a very forgiving and user friendly option compared to modern performance designs. By sharing characteristics from those early fishes made over 50 years ago, our Classic Fish has ample volume and stability for plenty of glide and speed. That speed and agility is just like what was found so long ago on those first rides down in San Diego. And like then, our Classic Fish will open your eyes to another dimension of surfing.

Category: MODERN CLASSICS.

Rocker: Low entry to flat throughout for easy wave catching and speed.

Rails: Medium slight down rail with hard tucked edges for sensitivity and hold.

Bottom: Flat bottom to rolled vee out the tail

Fins: Twin Fin, our Roberts Twin sets are a great option

Sizing:

3-5 inches shorter than your height for everyday surfing, matching your volume at about 2L-4L more than your good wave board. Over your height for a cruisier feel with even easier wave catching and more glide. Custom dims are always available to match your needs or preferences. Please feel free to use our BOARD SIZING QUESTIONNAIRE to receive more info about our boards and sizing.
