JACKAL

On African grasslands jackals use their high sense of smell and their cunning nature to hunt for food. Much like its namesake, our Jackal is designed to lurk around the lineup helping you easily snag waves while having a surprising level of high performance capabilities. We started with the nose from our Dream Maker giving it a slightly wider surface area up front which makes it a great paddler and helps you get into waves early. Instead of going with the more flowy feel of a wide retro swallow tail, the Jackal's tail is designed with an appetite for performance. From the mid point back, we blend the nose into a thinned winged swallowtail similar to the one found on our VLAD model. This type of tail gives it sensitivity and ease of performance at any speed. Working with the outline and foil, the rockers on the Jackal aren't as flat as found on grovelers nor as extreme as what you'd see on narrow shortboards. The nose rocker and width works well with front footed surfing to generate speed. The moderate tail rocker with the pivot of the wings encourages you to surf more aggressively in turns or steep sections while giving the board more range in wave size.

Rocker: Moderate rocker with a small amount of flip in the nose so it can cruise while still have tons of speed without working too hard for it.

Rails: Medium to slightly full for stability and float, with tucked hard edges for speed and holding power.

Bottom: Single to double concave

Fins: Five fin is standard to ride as a thruster or quad

Sizing:

For a high performance approach based on your height, aim for about the same length to as much as 4" shorter as you are tall, matching volume to skill level, needs, or preferences. Up in volume and at your height or beyond for additional stability and wave catching ease. Custom dims are always available to match your needs or preferences.
