MODERN MID
Overview
The Modern Mid bridges the gap between mid-lengths and our high-performance Dreamcatcher. Its forward wide point and curvy outline provide the enhanced paddling and glide you get from a mid-length, while its other features unlock an elevated level of performance that those types of boards typically don't offer.
A slightly wider but thinner nose than the Dreamcatcher helps paddling and keeps swing weight down for agile performance and a lighter feel in turns. Tapered down rails with their thinner profile add sensitivity. Combined with rockers designed for a blend of speed and flow, allow the Modern Mid to go on rail and turn easily. A single to double concave bottom and rounded pintail from the DC provides lift as well as better control in a broad wave size range.
One of the most unique performance features we put into the Modern Mid is its fin box configuration. It has normally placed front fin boxes as well as a single fin box for riding the board as a single fin, single fin with side bites, or as a thruster. AND we install two extra boxes in a special placement to ride it as a twin fin or bonzer variant for greater speed with even more responsiveness.
When sized between a shortboard and a classic mid-length, the Modern Mid offers a level of flow and performance not typically seen in longer railed boards. In longer lengths and higher volumes, it suits lighter, newer, or older surfers seeking effortless paddling and stability. A fusion of function, performance, and style, you can choose your Modern Mid to perfectly fit your surfing, whether you want to carve up the wave or cruise on down the line.
