STAR CHIP

Fast like a rocket, the Star Chip is a high performance all around betweener for your everyday waves up to rippable surf a couple feet overhead. A moderate rocker is used for catching waves with ease while still allowing it to be free and responsive in the pocket. It has a single to double concave bottom with four channels running out the tail. Working with the bottom contours, the channels add even more lift and water flow to create the Star Chip's mach speeds. The Star Chip's unique multi-angular swallow tail helps exhaust water off the channels and provides pivot points for release and precise turning. The Star Chip is designed to be ridden as a thruster or as a Twonzer. Use your favorite thruster fins for high speed performance. To take it to the next level and beyond, use a set of Roberts Twonzer fins for another dimension of acceleration and handling.

Rocker: Low in the tail for speed and slightly flipped in the last 12 inches of the nose to allow vertical maneuvers in the pocket.

Rails: Medium to Full for stability with tucked hard edges for speed and holding power.

Bottom: Single to double concave with 4 channels running out the tail.

Fins: Five fin is standard to ride as a thruster or by using our Twonzer fin setup and fins.

Sizing:

Sized compared to pro model shortboards go 5-6 inches shorter, 1" wider and in the same thickness. 1-4" shorter than your height for high performance approach, matching volume to skill level, needs, or preferences. Up in volume and at your height or beyond for additional stability and wave catching ease. Custom dims are always available to match your needs or preferences.
